#1: The Journey Begins

Anyone who has read or seen or heard the very famous tale Journey to the West must have had themselves the desire to embark on a journey --- how could one not? It would certainly astound me, that one did not get woo'd by the charm of its characters, by the seductive perils that they face on their road to retrieve scriptures. But one must wonder: where would we even go? After all, Miyamoto Musashi once wrote something along these lines: "Be indiifferent to where you live." And perhaps he was right in recommending us to do so, for what really sets a bit of earth apart from the next? It is all the same to us, no matter where we go; it is us who are different...
